1 Corinthians covers some pretty challenging and controversial issues for men and our society today. Some of it is pretty clear ("Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body" - 1 Cor 6:18), but there are some passages like 1 Corinthians 7 that contain some pretty difficult teaching. Earlier this year I had the privilege of hearing Dr. Bruce Winter (principal of Queensland Theological College) explain 1 Corinthians 7. Bruce has written a number of books on Corinth and the background and setting of Paul's letters and Graeco-Roman society (see here).
