Yes, I think it is because men are viewed as less spiritual than women. I think men have the conflicts between masculinity and spirituality that women don't have. Men are to use Jesus as an example, but Jesus has a number of qualities that could be considered feminine, by our definitions. We cannot separate that becoming more feminine in some ways involves becoming more humane. So I think for men the challenge is that to become more spiritual they may feel like a woman. Women just simply don't have those discrepancies, which is why I believe that women attend church more than men, even though current religions are patriarchal.
